Candy Canes at the aid stations!
Ready for some holiday fun?? Get those antlers and red noses on and come on out for the 5-year anniversary of our Rockin Reindeer Run benefiting Toys For Tots!
Santa and Mrs. Claus will be there handing out candy canes and taking pictures, so be sure to bring the kiddos out! 🙂
All participants will receive a really cool tech shirt and awesome finisher’s medal!
Awards for Overall 1st, 2nd and 3rd Place Male and Female Finishers. Ribbons for Age Division 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finishers!
We are asking that participants bring an unwrapped toy to packet pick up or on race day. The Marines will be there to collect them for ‘Toys For Tots’ and ensure they get into the hands of a special little child!! If you would rather donate money instead, we will be happy to buy the toys on your behalf! 🙂
‘After Race Celebration’ inside the PKWY Tavern….25% off their menu (a la carte items excluded)!
Come on out and enjoy music, food and lots of fun for a Happy Holiday to all!!!
The half marathon will start at 10:00 am, the 10K at 10:30 am, the 5K at 10:35 am and the 1-mile will start at 10:40 am, right behind the PKWY Tavern on the Western Beltway Trail, which runs parallel to the 215. The participants will head west on the Western Beltway Trail, enjoying awesome views of the mountains, for 6.55 miles, 3.1 miles or 1.55 miles, and then will turnaround and enjoy downhill and spectacular views of the strip all the way back to the finish line!
The course starts at 2710 ft elevation for all 3 races. For the half marathon, it goes up to 3129 ft at 4.5 miles (419 foot elevation gain, about 100 foot elevation gain per mile) and then goes down to 3066 ft at 5.13 miles (63 foot elevation loss in just under 3/4 mile), then back up to 3189 ft at the turnaround at 6.55 miles (123 foot elevation gain in just under 1.5 miles).
So it is a gradual uphill….but then you turnaround and have fun with the downhill back to the finish! 🙂
There will be aid stations about every 1.55 miles….8 aid stations for the half marathon, 3 for the 10K and 1 for the 5K!
There will be porta potties placed about every 3 miles.
There is a 4-hour cutoff…very doable! 🙂

These include ALS, Alzheimer’s, Huntington’s and Parkinson’s disease, Multiple Sclerosis and memory disorders of all kinds. Memory disorders don’t simply affect an individual, so they provide programs and services for the entire family of caregivers.
Thank you to our amazing sponsor!
Battle Born Injury Lawyers is a local personal injury firm formed in the true spirit of Nevada. Battle Born is proud to sponsor the Rockin’ Reindeer Run in memory of its founding partner, Troy Atkinson, who passed away from cancer on December 28, 2016. When Troy was bravely battling his disease, he always redirected any offer of help or support to others less fortunate than him. With Troy’s inspiration, we committed ourselves to living healthier lives while dedicating time to helping others. We began donating to Stand Up To Cancer and started running races as a team. Rockin’ Reindeer was our first, and will forever be linked in our hearts and minds with Troy’s courageous fight.
